*14/10/07 Northern Region Championships

The annual KUGB Northern Region Championship took place on Sunday 14th October.

Having only gained their new grade on the Saturday, many students were in a new category.

Everyone competed well and got through a few rounds. The team kata, (formed only the previous week!), finished just outside the finals with a strong performance of Heian Sandan.

There was one finalist in kumite, Chris Hamilton who went on to become the Northern Region Champion .

Chris's first point leveled the scoring with a Waza-ari for Mawashi Geri Chudan, Chris then finishing off with a spectacular Mawashi Geri Jodan to take the championship with Ippon.
